When they realised how much they enjoyed performing together, they decided to establish a new rock band and named themselves Milkwood. How’s the Weather, the band’s debut album, was released in 1973, however it was a commercial failure.

Ric wrote the majority of the band’s songs throughout their career. After taking time apart to pursue individual projects, the band came back together in 2010 to record the album Move Like This.
Ric was a busy record producer in addition to being a musician. In his career, he contributed to albums by many different performers.
