Abigail Breslin recently opened up about a prior violent relationship in honour of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. She used Instagram to document her ordeal of two years of abuse.
Breslin said in his post
During those two years, I was in a relationship that was quite abusive. At first, everything seemed wonderful; I was completely smitten. My abuser preyed on my naiveté and innocence, which led to the development of violent behaviour in our relationship.
Many times I was beaten severely, kept in a room, and told to act as if nothing was wrong, despite the fact that I was in pain from wounds that most people couldn’t see.
In addition to the physical harm, “there was a barrage of insults, shame, and brutal verbal abuse.”
Then she thanked everyone who has supported her during her ordeal.
“I’ve never felt so alone as I have in the last two years. I will never forget the people who helped me get out of that horrible situation, and I will be eternally thankful to them.
